NEGOTIATION skills are the focus at the next meeting of the Business Forum Mid Devon at Tiverton Hotel next week.

The Forum, which formed last year, now regularly attracts business leaders from all over the region to help with networking and other useful advice and workshops.

The event next Tuesday, January 17, includes a workshop with Robert Hartnett, director at the Edinburgh Business School, looking at negotiation skills.

“This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills from a a leading expert in the field”, said James Millar, BFMD publicity officer.

“Robert Hartnett, has advised leading politicians and business leaders on how to deal with conflict and still get the desired outcome. We are very lucky to have someone of his calibre along to the meeting.”

The BFMD is aimed at promoting businesses in the area through seminars and networking and was launched at the Tiverton Town Hall in July last year. It has the backing of Mid Devon District Council and both the leader of the council, Peter Hare-Scott and chief executive Kevin Finan are on the Executive Committee.

The Forum has gone from strength to strength since its launch, attracting a number of new members.

Registration for the event is at 6.15pm, followed by an opportunity for networking and refreshments.

To book a place at the next meeting or to find out more about the BFMD log onto www.bfmd.org.uk. It costs £35 per year to join the forum  which includes six annual meetings, food and drink at the evenings and a listing on the website.
